For every roundup we compile each product's published specifications, check its dimensions against the airline sizers, run the math that matters — empty weight, packing capacity, cost-per-trip — read the aggregated owner reviews, and rank the picks against a rubric you can read on our how we research and rank page. Every price on the site is pulled live from Amazon and stamped with the date it was fetched.

What we don't do

We do not run a testing lab, and we will never pretend to. Everyone in this category says they tested twenty suitcases; we have not lab-tested any of them, and we say so on every page. We think that is more honest than a staged photo of a bag being "stress tested" — and more useful, because our method is one you can reproduce from the same public specs. When a cheaper bag is the better buy, we say so, even though it earns us less.
